Andhra Pradesh Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha has directed officials to launch a special mobile application for women's safety. On Friday, she held a review meeting at the State Secretariat with Director General of Police (DGP) Harish Kumar Gupta and other senior police officials. The discussions covered budget priorities, measures for the protection of women and children, and the establishment of help desks for their support.
The minister instructed officials to ensure that the special app is launched by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on March 8, coinciding with International Women's Day.
Earlier, at the camp office in Vijayawada, Home Minister Anitha met with victims of the Sai Sadhana Chit Fund scam. The meeting was organized under the leadership of Narasaraopet MLA Dr. Chadalavada Aravind Babu. The victims alleged that the chit fund had defrauded nearly ₹200 crore, with many of the affected being poor and middle-class individuals.
MLA Aravind Babu urged the minister to ensure justice for the victims. In response, Home Minister Anitha assured that necessary action was being taken. She stated that arrests had already been made in connection with the case and promised that justice would be delivered soon. The minister also revealed that a Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been constituted to probe the Sai Sadhana Chit Fund case.
