Union Home Ministry Directs Three IPS Officers to Report to AP

The Union Home Ministry has issued crucial orders directing three Andhra Pradesh-cadre IPS officers, currently serving in Telangana, to report to Andhra Pradesh. As per the directive issued on Saturday, Telangana State Police Academy Director Abhilasha Bisht, Road Safety Authority Chairman Anjani Kumar, and Karimnagar Police Commissioner Abhishek Mohanty have been instructed to move to Andhra Pradesh.

Following the bifurcation of the erstwhile united Andhra Pradesh in 2014, the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) allocated All India Service officers between the two newly formed states. However, some officers challenged the allocation before the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT), leading to legal proceedings. In response, DoPT filed a petition in the High Court.

Ultimately, based on the recommendations of the Khandekar Committee, which was appointed last year, the Union Home Ministry has now ordered the transfer of these three IPS officers to Andhra Pradesh.
