The Andhra Pradesh government has intensified its focus on the construction of the state capital, Amaravati. As part of this initiative, the government has decided to commence the works from March 15. In this regard, it has simultaneously initiated 62 projects with a total estimated cost of ₹40,000 crore.
To facilitate the commencement of these works, the Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) and the Amaravati Development Corporation (ADC) have invited tenders. Additionally, CRDA is planning to call for tenders for 11 more projects. However, sources indicate that this process is likely to proceed only after the Krishna-Guntur Graduates' MLC elections.
Previously, the Election Commission had clarified that there were no objections to carrying out works in Amaravati. However, it had advised the government to conduct the tendering process only after the elections.
