The police issued notices to Huzurabad MLA Kaushik Reddy today (Sunday).
The police issued notices to Huzurabad MLA Kaushik Reddy today (Sunday). They stated that on the 9th of this month, he staged a dharna with Dalit Bandhu beneficiaries in Huzurabad without permission. Based on this, the Huzurabad police have registered a case against Kaushik Reddy and several BRS leaders. The police indicated in the notice that the case is registered under Section 35(3) of the BNS Act.
Meanwhile, the dharna organized by Dalits and MLA Kaushik Reddy to demand the release of the second tranche of Dalit Bandhu funds in Huzurabad, Karimnagar district, led to heightened tensions. Kaushik Reddy had called those who had not received the second installment of Dalit Bandhu money to come to his house and apply for the funds. As a result, a large number of beneficiaries gathered at the MLA's residence. The beneficiaries requested Kaushik Reddy’s participation in the dharna at the Huzurabad Ambedkar intersection. This led to a rally where everyone marched and staged a dharna at the Ambedkar statue.
Additionally, the police have taken action against BRS MLA Padi Kaushik Reddy, who had previously engaged in a heated verbal exchange with Serilingampalli MLA Arekapudi Gandhi. A case has been registered against Padi Kaushik Reddy based on a complaint by Additional SP Ravi Chandan, which alleged that he obstructed police duties. Consequently, the Rayadurgam police registered a case against him under Sections 132 and 351(3) of the BNS Act.
An argument erupted between Serilingampalli MLA Arekapudi Gandhi and BRS MLA Padi Kaushik Reddy, centered around party defection issues. Kaushik vowed to visit Gandhi’s residence and hoist the BRS flag. However, he was placed under house arrest by the police. Unexpectedly, MLA Arekapudi Gandhi, along with his followers, went to Kaushik Reddy’s villa, leading to a commotion. They attacked him with tomatoes and eggs, and windows and pots were destroyed. In retaliation, BRS activists threw slippers, creating a tense atmosphere for about an hour and a half. Gandhi was subsequently arrested by the police but was released later. Following the incident, both Harish and Kaushik were taken to the Cyberabad Commissionerate.
