AP: Major Scam Exposed - Another Case Against Jagan

Former minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu has demanded an immediate investigation by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB)

Former minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu has demanded an immediate investigation by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) or the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) into YSRCP chief and former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy for allegedly receiving bribes related to a power purchase agreement. He criticized this as another significant quidpro quo deal and highlighted that American investigative agencies have concluded that bribe money reached Jagan.

Ramakrishnudu stressed that the people of Andhra Pradesh are suffering due to this corruption. He insisted that an investigation should be launched without delay. He also raised concerns regarding the Jagan government's solar power purchase agreements with the Adani Group, alleging it represents significant corruption that impacts the state treasury and burdens citizens with higher electricity charges.

Meanwhile, the connection between Gautam Adani and Jagan has come under scrutiny, with reports alleging that the Adani Group bribed various state governments with ₹2,029 crore for power purchase agreements. This includes ₹1,750 crore directed specifically to Jagan’s government. These findings are based on investigations by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the FBI, which have led to charges filed in a New York court.

According to reports, the Adani Group secured a tender for solar power supply but faced difficulties when state DISCOMs hesitated to sign agreements due to pricing concerns. To address this, the Adani Group allegedly engaged in a "bribery tour," meeting with key figures, including Jagan. The SEC’s investigation revealed internal communications suggesting that deals were finalized after these meetings. The FBI has referred to Jagan as an involved “Indian citizen” in this ongoing investigation.
