In the recent Jharkhand Assembly elections, the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM)-led alliance has emerged victorious. According to the results announced on Saturday, out of a total of 81 assembly seats in Jharkhand, candidates from the JMM alliance won 56 seats, surpassing the required 41 seats to form a government. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) won 21 seats, becoming the second-largest party in the state. The JMM contested 43 seats and won 34, marking the highest number of seats the party has ever won. Additionally, Congress candidates secured 16 seats, while the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) won 4 seats, and candidates from the Communist Party of India (Marxist–Leninist) won 2 seats.
The JMM alliance will form the new government following their landslide victory in the assembly elections. Hemant Soren's swearing-in ceremony will feature prominent leaders, including Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee, Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav, Aam Aadmi Party convener Arvind Kejriwal, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav, and Dipankar Bhattacharya representing the Left parties, among others.
