AP launches WhatsApp service to simplify grain selling for farmers

Andhra Pradesh government has introduced WhatsApp-based services.

In a significant move to streamline the grain-selling process for farmers, the Andhra Pradesh government has introduced WhatsApp-based services. Civil Supplies Minister Nadendla Manohar announced that farmers can now utilize the dedicated WhatsApp number 73373 59375 to avoid long wait times at procurement centers.

Explaining the process, the minister highlighted how the system, powered by artificial intelligence, ensures ease of use. Farmers simply need to send a "Hi" message to the WhatsApp number and follow the guided steps.

The procedure involves entering the farmer's Aadhaar number for verification, selecting a grain procurement center, and choosing a convenient date and time slot from the options provided. Farmers will then specify the type and quantity of grain they wish to sell, after which they receive a coupon code confirming their booking.

"This initiative eliminates the need for farmers to wait for hours at procurement centers. With just a few simple clicks, farmers can schedule their grain sale efficiently," Manohar said. The State government aims to enhance farmer convenience under its Ease of Doing Farmer Service program, modeled on the Ease of Doing Business concept. Manohar emphasized that the alliance government is committed to addressing farmers' challenges by leveraging technology to simplify processes.
