Revanth Reddy Responds to Notices Issued to Defected MLAs

Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has stated that the notices issued to BRS MLAs who joined the Congress were part of the standard procedural process. The notices were recently sent by the Legislative Assembly Secretary to legislators who switched parties.

Addressing the issue, Revanth Reddy emphasized that the caste census was not conducted for political gain. He stated that after the 2011 population census, his government had undertaken a similar exercise to ensure justice for Backward Classes (BCs), Scheduled Castes (SCs), and minorities, who collectively make up 76% of the population. He described the caste census as a historic move by his administration.

Revanth Reddy also criticized the opposition BRS, claiming that the party was not taking responsibility for crucial issues. "We are not concerned with the BRS," he remarked.

Regarding reservations for BCs, he stated that a commission was set up following court directives. He further clarified that the commission would make its decision in accordance with judicial orders.
