CID Issues Notices to Vijaya Sai Reddy in ₹3,600 Crore Kakinada Port Case
The Andhra Pradesh Crime Investigation Department (CID) has issued notices to former YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) leader and ex-Rajya Sabha member Vijaya Sai Reddy over allegations of forcibly acquiring stakes worth ₹3,600 crore in Kakinada Sea Ports Limited (KSPL) and Kakinada SEZ (KSEZ) from their owner, Karnati Venkateswara Rao (K.V. Rao).
As part of the investigation, Vijaya Sai Reddy has been summoned to appear before the CID regional office in Vijayawada on Wednesday morning. Two days ago, officials visited his residence to serve the notice. Since he was not present, the notice was handed over to his wife.
In the case, Vijaya Sai Reddy has been named as Accused No. 2 (A2), while Vikranth Reddy, son of Y.V. Subba Reddy—paternal uncle of former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy—has been named as Accused No. 1 (A1). The Enforcement Directorate (ED) had previously investigated Vijaya Sai Reddy for alleged money laundering related to the case. Now, the CID has intensified the probe.
