Prominent Actor Venu Thottempudi Booked in Hyderabad Case

Hyderabad CCS police have registered a case against renowned actor Venu Thottempudi and four others. Venu is associated as a representative of Progressive Constructions, a company managed by the family members of former MP Kavuri Sambasiva Rao.

The company had previously secured a contract related to a hydroelectric project in Uttarakhand through the Tehri Hydro Development Corporation (THDC). The contract was later subcontracted to Rithwik Projects and Swathi Constructions, both based in Hyderabad. However, Swathi Constructions withdrew midway, and in 2002, Rithwik Projects commenced the work.

Subsequently, a dispute arose between Progressive Constructions and THDC, leading to a legal battle in the Delhi High Court. Amidst this, Venu and the Progressive Constructions management terminated their agreement with Rithwik Projects. Following this, Rithwik Projects’ MD, Ravi Krishna, had previously filed a police complaint, alleging a violation of the agreement.

Acting on the recent directives of the Nampally Second Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, police have registered a case against Venu Thottempudi, along with Progressive Constructions' executives Bhaskara Rao Hemalatha, Srivani, and MD Paturi Praveen.

Venu Thottempudi made his Telugu film debut with Swayamvaram and later gained popularity with hit movies such as Kalyana Ramudu and Pellam Oorelithe. After a long hiatus, he made a comeback with the film Ramarao On Duty.
