Penumarthi Harikrishna, Director of the National Cyber Security Research Council (NCSRC), recalled how Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu swiftly addressed a personal issue he faced by responding to an email he sent at a cost of just four rupees. Harikrishna made these remarks during an interactive session held as part of the ‘Swarna Kuppam Vision-2029’ program at Dravidian University in Kuppam, Chittoor district.
Harikrishna recounted that during Chandrababu Naidu’s tenure as the Chief Minister of undivided Andhra Pradesh, his monthly salary was only ₹3,000. He shared that when he encountered a problem at that time, he sent an email to Chandrababu Naidu for a minimal cost of ₹4, and within two months, his issue was resolved. Harikrishna remarked, “Despite sending emails three times recently to ‘[email protected],’ I have not received any response. Now, I am working to bring 100 companies to Andhra Pradesh, which will provide employment and livelihood opportunities for the youth. If given a chance, I can help generate ₹1,000 crore in revenue for the government through the cyber sector.”
Responding to Harikrishna’s statement, Chandrababu Naidu assured him that his secretary, Pradyumna, would follow up. Chandrababu Naidu also promised to include Harikrishna as an advisor in the state’s cyber security technical team. He stated, “I will ensure Andhra Pradesh becomes the number one state in cyber security.” Chandrababu Naidu acknowledged the inherent challenges in governance, which sometimes hinder timely communication with experts, but assured Harikrishna that such issues would be addressed in the future.
