Police File Case Against Former Andhra Minister Kakani

Former Andhra Pradesh minister and senior YSR Congress Party leader Kakani Govardhan Reddy has been booked by Kavali police. Allegations against him stem from remarks he made during a recent program held in Kolladinne village, Bogole Mandal.

Kakani reportedly made inappropriate comments about the police, prompting Vantaru Prasanna, a resident of Kolladinne, to file a complaint. The complaint alleges that the former minister's comments were offensive and targeted law enforcement.

The incident unfolded during a visit by Kakani Govardhan Reddy to a hospital, where he was meeting injured YSR Congress Party workers following a violent clash between YSRCP and TDP leaders in Bogole Mandal. During this visit, Kakani is alleged to have behaved inappropriately toward the police, warning them that the YSR Congress Party would return to power soon and threatening severe consequences, including stripping them of their uniforms. He also reportedly issued warnings to TDP leaders and workers, stating that they would not be spared.

Following a formal complaint from TDP leader Vantaru Prasanna at the Kavali One Town Police Station, authorities registered a case against Kakani Govardhan Reddy under various sections of the Indian Penal Code. Investigations are ongoing.
