Vyjayanti Movies “Kalki-2898” film has emerged as the top sixth highest grossers of Indian cinema. The film released on June 27 worldwide proved the saleability of the Telugu Film Industry by registering impressive collections.

According to reports, the film has already entered the top sixth highest grossers movies list with a collection of Rs 1100 crore after overcoming Sharuk Khan’s (Rs 1050 crore) “Pathan” movie.

Young Director Nag Ashwin, who is the son-in-law of producer Ashwini Dutt, directed the film after ‘Mahanati’ scripted on legendary actress late Savitri. Popular film production house led by producer Chalasani Ashwini Dutt produced many super hit movies from NTR, ANR, Krishna, Shobhan Babu, Krishnam Raju,   Chiranjeevi, Balakrishna, Nagarjuna, Venkatesh, Mahesh Babu, Ramcharan, Mohan Lal, Vanisree, Sridevi, Jayapradha, Jayasudha,  and many other actors before the Kalki.

The banner was named by the late NTR in 1974 and Ashwini Dutt produced the movie “Eduruleni Manishi” as NTR hero almost 50 years ago. He entered the film industry immediately after finishing his graduation. Surprisingly the young graduate produced his debut movie with legendary actor NTR.

Since then he has been continuously producing many super-hit movies in many languages including “Company” movie in Hindi.

Interestingly when the production house Vyjayanti movies is celebrating the 50th year, the producer Ashwini Dutt’s son-in-law and director Nag Ashwin, two daughters Swapna, Priyanka played key roles behind the success of Kalki movie and forwarded the legacy for next level. Because of their efforts, the Vyjayanti movies banner registered its name in the top 10 Indian movies list.

Presently, the Kalki movie crossed the super hit movies produced by the Telugu film industry like “Bahubali 1 The Beginning” collection of Rs 600- Rs 650 crore and Pushpa of Rs 375 crore collection. Already Kalki’s Hindi version set a new record by earning Rs 275.9 crore in four weeks, overcoming the RRR’s Rs 272 crore to achieve the feat,

Besides, the Nag Ashwin directorial is now running at Rs 632 crore net in India and aims to go past ‘Jawan’ which collected Rs 640.25 crore in its lifetime run at the ticket window. Once it surpasses the Shah Rukh Khan Starrer, ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ is close to becoming the fourth highest-grossing picture of all time at the domestic box office.

Based on the last two days of collection weekend holidays, the film entered the Rs 1100 crore club. There is a possibility of reaching this film in the top five Indian-grosser list. As per the collection records, Pathan registered Rs 1050 crore, Jawan movie made Rs 1148 crore standing at fifth and sixth collection toppers in Indian cinema history.

However, Rajamouli’s two movies “Baahubali 2 The Conclusion” collected Rs1810 crore and RRR collected Rs 1387 crore to occupy the second and third slots respectively.
Aamir Khan’s Dangal movie still has continued to lead at first place after its release in 2016 with Rs 2023 crore collection.

Besides, there are some huge expectations for the future films of the Telugu Industry particularly on Pushpa-2 and Kalki part 2.  Now Kalki ‘s success encouraged South Indian cinema to produce many big-budget movies in near future.

However, the film producer Ashwini Dutt, an ardent fan of NTR, has plans to celebrate the success in Andhra Pradesh capital Amaravati to encourage film-related projects in Andhra Pradesh as he is a native of Vijayawada. He wants to exhibit his gratitude for AP’s capital Amaravati by staging the success celebration of Kalki.
