In a groundbreaking initiative to promote women empowerment, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav inaugurated Hotel Amaltas, the State’s first hotel entirely operated by women, in Pachmarhi. This pioneering project aims to provide training and employment opportunities to local women, showcasing the State’s commitment to gender equality and empowerment in the hospitality sector.
Dr. Yadav expressed his pride in Madhya Pradesh’s progress, emphasizing that this initiative would inspire other States to follow suit. He underscored the importance of women in Indian culture, both in mythology and societal roles, drawing attention to the reverence for women in both spiritual and familial contexts. The launch event also saw the Chief Minister interacting with the entire female staff of Hotel Amaltas. As a gesture of appreciation, he presented them with gifts and encouraged their participation in the initiative. Security guard Mala Chaudhary thanked Dr. Yadav for providing women with training and employment opportunities. Dr. Yadav thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for choosing Madhya Pradesh for the restoration of the cheetah and shared the state’s recent success with the release of two leopards into the Kuno forest, symbolizing the state’s resolve in preserving its wildlife.
Principal secretary of Tourism, Sheo Shekhar Shukla, spoke about the Safe Tourism Destination project, which provides self-defense training to 40,000 women across 50 tourist destinations. In addition, 10,000 women are being trained in tourism and hospitality skills to boost their confidence and economic independence. He also shared that efforts would soon begin to operate hotels run by differently-abled individuals, further broadening the scope for inclusive employment.
