Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu directed all district collectors on Monday to work on reviving the state’s “devastated” brand image for its reconstruction. Speaking at the first collectors conference of the new NDA government at the Secretariat, the chief minister emphasized that the meeting would set the tone for Andhra Pradesh’s reconstruction. “We have to revive the damaged brand, and at the same time, we have to prove that the Andhra administration is one of the best,” Naidu said.
Highlighting the importance of reconstructing the state, the CM noted that while a small mistake can be corrected, a state that has been completely devastated requires extra efforts to rebuild, alluding to the previous government.
Naidu also promised to hold the collectors conference every quarter, stating that no such conference had been held for five years under the YS Jagan Mohan Reddy-led YSRCP government.
He urged that best practices must be upheld, regardless of the party in power, and taken forward. Naidu also emphasized that Andhra Pradesh’s bureaucracy was once regarded as one of the best in the country, producing successive Central IT secretaries and a couple of apex bank governors.
However, he alleged that all that reputation came crashing down under the YSRCP regime. The state government has prepared a 100-day plan to be effectively implemented by the collectors, among other crucial responsibilities.
