‘Bujji Thalli’, the first single from Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi’s Thandel, was released recently amidst a lot of anticipation. With music composer DSP receiving immense flak for his work in Kanguva, there were apprehensions around Bujji Thalli. However, DSP has passed the litmus test with flying colours.

Bujji Thalli is a haunting melody that grows on its listeners like slow poison on repeat hearings. DSP, lyricist Sree Mani, and singer Javed Ali tog

ether churn out an infectious number that tugs at heart strings. The violin piece, the percussion beats, Javed Ali’s mellifluous voice that’s filled with pain and melody, Sree Mani’s profound lyrics that add depth to this pensive seaside love story of the main leads, and finally, DSP’s signature touch altogether make Bujji Thalli a lover ballad to watch out for.

It looks like Bujji Thalli is the song Naga Chaitanya sings remembering his Bujji Thalli, Sai Pallavi, after being captured by the Pakistan coast guards and languishing in a Pak prison. The song will make a much stronger impact with Chay and Sai Pallavi’s screen presence on the big screens. Meanwhile, the song is sure to inspire countless cover versions on Instagram and YouTube in the coming days.

Thandel is being directed by Chandoo Mondeti and produced by Bunny Vas. The film is being presented by Allu Aravind. Thandel will have a pan-Indian release on February 7, 2025.
