Ramakrishna Reddy has been reappointed as the Managing Director (MD) of Andhra Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation (AP Metro Rail).
The special chief secretary of Municipal Administration issued the orders on Friday. Ramakrishna Reddy will continue in this role for three years. He previously served as the MD of AP Metro Rail Corporation.
Jayamanmada Rao, who was currently holding the position, has been relieved of his duties. During the tenure of Chandrababu Naidu from 2014 to 2019, the metro rail proposal aimed at reducing traffic congestion in Vijayawada was approved.
Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) were prepared for the construction of the metro rail in two corridors.
The first corridor is proposed to run from VR Siddhartha Engineering College to Pandit Nehru Bus Station via Mahatma Gandhi Road. The second corridor is planned from BRTS Road, Railway Station to Ramvarpadu Ring, and then to Pandit Nehru Bus Station
