Officials have raised the 10 gates of Srisailam Dam by 20 feet due to heavy rains and flooding. The dam is currently releasing water downstream. The inflow into the Srisailam reservoir is 454,710 cusecs, while the outflow is 526,501 cusecs. The reservoir’s full water capacity is 215 tmc, and it currently holds 204 tmc. Meanwhile, hydropower stations are still generating electricity. The floods have also impacted other projects in the Krishna basin, causing Srisailam reservoir to overflow into Nagarjunasagar. At Nagarjunasagar, the inflow is 526,000 cusecs, with 34,000 cusecs being released. The full water capacity of Nagarjunasagar is 312 tmc, with the current storage at 230 tmc.
