YCP Leader and former MP Nandigam Suresh has been granted permission by the court to be taken into police custody. The Mangalagiri Police will conduct an investigation at the rural station from Sunday afternoon until Tuesday afternoon. This investigation is in relation to the attack on the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) headquarters. The trial will span two days. Nandigam Suresh is presently held in Guntur District Jail and will be transferred to Mangalagiri CS for the investigation.
In the case of the attack on the TDP central office, the court has remanded Nandigam Suresh to police custody for two days and has instructed him to cooperate with the investigation. The police will be looking into who is responsible for this attack. The court has also ordered that no physical force, verbal abuse, or intimidation should take place during this trial. However, Nandigam Suresh’s legal counsel has requested that their lawyers be allowed to participate in the investigation. The court has stated that it will consider a special petition in this regard and make a decision accordingly.
Additionally, Nandigam Suresh is facing charges in a separate incident involving boats hitting the barrage gates in Prakasam. In another development, YCP leaders and MLCs were present for police questioning on Saturday regarding the attacks on TDP central office and CM Chandrababu’s residence. The Supreme Court has ordered YCP MLCs Lella Appireddy, Talashila Raghuram, former minister Jogi Ramesh, and YCP leader Devineni Avinash, along with their lawyer Oggu Gavaskar, to surrender their passports to the investigating authorities within 48 hours. They have been instructed to cooperate with the police investigation and appear whenever summoned. In response, the Mangalagiri Rural Police issued notices to the YCP leaders to attend an inquiry on Saturday afternoon.
During the inquiry, heavy security was present at the Mangalagiri police station, and only those involved in the hearing were allowed inside. It is reported that the YCP leaders did not fully cooperate with the investigation, providing answers such as ‘don’t know,’ ‘not related,’ and ‘don’t remember.’ The investigation continued until late Saturday night at the Mangalagiri circle office.
