Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy sparked a controversy on Saturday with scathing remarks targeting the Telugu film industry and actor Allu Arjun following a tragic stampede near Sandhya Theater in Hyderabad. The incident, which occurred during the release celebrations of Pushpa 2, claimed the life of a woman while her nine-year-old son continues to battle for survival in the hospital. CM Revanth criticized the film fraternity for failing to aid the victims. "What happened to Allu Arjun? Did he break a leg or an arm? Film personalities are queuing up at his house, cursing me, but none of them came forward to help the victims," he remarked, calling for greater accountability from the film industry. Irresponsibility cannot be overlooked Revanth alleged that Allu Arjun ignored police warnings and contributed to the chaos by participating in a roadshow after the screening. He further claimed that the actor’s bouncers pushed fans, triggering the stampede. "A mother died holding her son’s hand, and the child is now in a coma. Yet, the hero sat in the balcony and refused to intervene," Revanth stated, adding that Allu Arjun's actions amounted to misbehavior with the police.

The CM dismissed accusations of police failure, asserting that law enforcement had issued prior warnings and refrained from any lathicharge during the incident. "The hero chose to stay inside the theater and later conducted a roadshow despite knowing about the casualties," Revanth said, emphasizing the need for accountability. The CM assured the Assembly that an inquiry would be conducted into the incident and emphasized that measures would be taken to prevent such tragedies in the future.

The government must act to prevent such incidents," Owaisi demanded, calling for stringent measures against negligence by public figures.
