Chaganti to prepare moral education books for school curriculum
In a bid to integrate ethics and values into the education system, the Andhra Pradesh government has entrusted Chaganti Koteswara Rao, the State's advisor on ethics and values, with the task of preparing moral education books for school students.
The decision, taken during a cabinet meeting two days ago, aims to instill moral values among children as part of the broader KG-to-PG curriculum integration. The government has also announced the Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan Vidyarthi Mitra Scheme, under which kits will be distributed to government school students.
These kits, costing an estimated ₹32.45 crore, will include textbooks, competitive exam materials, record books, and writing books. In another significant move, the cabinet has decided to restore the mid-day meal scheme for intermediate students across the state, starting January.
Additionally, from the next academic year, intermediate colleges will offer specialized training for competitive exams such as JEE, NEET, and EAMCET.
Commenting on his appointment, Chaganti Koteswara Rao expressed his commitment to the cause. "I am accepting this role not for the position but with the intent of contributing something meaningful to the children. If my words can benefit them, it will be a step toward their betterment," he said.
