The Andhra Pradesh High Court currently has 247,097 pending cases, while the district and subordinate courts have 904,462 pending cases, according to Union Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal. He provided this information to the Rajya Sabha on the 19th of this month in response to a question from Rajya Sabha member Parimal Nathwani. Meghwal explained that the Andhra Pradesh High Court is authorized to have 37 judges, but 8 positions are currently vacant. Additionally, there should be 623 judicial officers in the district and subordinate courts, with 59 positions unfilled.
The minister also shared that there are 82,640 pending cases in the Supreme Court, 6,180,878 in High Courts across all states in India, and a staggering 46,234,646 pending cases in the district and subordinate courts nationwide.
