In the first test at the Queen’s Park Oval, West Indies is trailing South Africa by 212 runs. Keshav Maharaj took three wickets, frustrating the hosts on a rain-affected Day 3.

Maharaj bowled a marathon spell of 28 overs unchanged, with rain interruptions halting play for about 90 minutes. West Indies struggled to compile runs after play resumed and reached 145-4.

They went from 114-1 to 124-4, with Maharaj taking the wickets of Keacy Carty and Alick Athanaze in quick succession. The session ended with Jason Holder scoring 13 and Kavem Hodge scoring 11.

Earlier on Day 3, West Indies quickly ended South Africa’s first innings at 357 all out, with Jomel Warrican finishing with 4-69 and Jayden Seales with 3-67.

South Africa captain Temba Bavuma scored 86 and opener Tony de Zorzi scored 78 in the innings.

The match began with only 15 overs bowled on the first day due to rain delays. This series follows West Indies’ 3-0 loss in England, with two of those tests ending within three days. Next up is the two-test series followed by three T20 games.
