The PSLV C60 mission launched from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SHAR) in Sriharikota has been declared a success. As part of the Space Docking Experiment (SPADEX), the rocket successfully placed two satellites, Target and Chaser, into their designated orbit. These twin satellites have a combined weight of 440 kilograms.
The launch occurred at 10:00 PM and 15 seconds, following the conclusion of the countdown. The PSLV C60 soared into space with precision, deploying the Target and Chaser satellites into orbit without any technical glitches. The primary objective of this mission is to develop the technology required for docking and undocking spacecraft in space.
This advancement is significant for India’s ambition to construct its own space station. Until now, such docking and undocking technology has been possessed only by the United States, Russia, and China. Following the successful completion of the PSLV C60 mission, celebrations erupted among ISRO officials.
