Kuppam will set a benchmark in development and emerge as a model constituency for the entire country in the next five years," declared Nara Bhuvaneshwari, wife of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu, during her visit to Kuppam on Friday. Marking the occasion, additional courses were introduced at the Skill Development Center, with Bhuvaneshwari announcing key initiatives to uplift the region. She stated that financial assistance for women will be extended under the aegis of the NTR Trust and confirmed plans for a blood bank at the Kuppam Area Hospital.
Continuing her four-day tour of Kuppam in Chittoor district, Bhuvaneshwari addressed public grievances on Friday at the premises of PS Medical College, where she is staying. Following Chandrababu Naidu's directive to transform Kuppam into a model municipality, the government has initiated "Kada" development works. In the first phase, Rs. 45 crore will be allocated. Other initiatives include Rs. 110 crore for drainage construction across constituency villages, Rs. 1.4 crore for road repairs, and significant upgrades to area hospitals to enhance healthcare services. A thousand new streetlights have already been installed in Kuppam Municipality, and an Anna Canteen has been set up to provide affordable meals to the poor.
The Chief Minister assured that the Handriniva project would be completed by July next year, resolving long-standing water issues in the region. Focus on employment, migration Bhuvaneshwari lauded the progress in villages like Vanaguttapalli, where 45 self-help groups are now operational. She pledged continued support for financial self-reliance and entrepreneurship, ensuring migration becomes a thing of the past.
The installation of water tanks, an NTR Sujala plant, and bore wells has already improved living conditions. Plans to construct 15,323 new houses in Kuppam are underway, along with a proposal to install solar plants on every household, free of cost. Roads will soon be pothole-free, and the government is determined to eliminate the menace of marijuana to safeguard the future of the youth.
Resolving local issues Bhuvaneshwari's tour will cover every mandal in Kuppam, allowing her to personally address local concerns and receive petitions from residents. She assured timely resolutions to the issues raised. This is Bhuvaneshwari’s second visit to Kuppam since the coalition government came to power. Alongside Chandrababu Naidu, she continues to spearhead efforts to turn Kuppam into a development model for Andhra Pradesh and beyond.
