Air India has announced the suspension of flights to Tel Aviv until August 8, due to escalating tensions in the Middle East. The Tata Group-owned airline normally operates four weekly flights to the Israeli city from the national capital.
The airline cited the ongoing situation in parts of the Middle East as the reason for the suspension. Passengers with confirmed bookings for travel to and from Tel Aviv during this period will receive a one-time waiver on rescheduling and cancellation charges.
Tensions continue to remain high in the Middle East amid conflict between Israel and various groups, including Hamas. This is not the first time Air India has suspended flights to Tel Aviv due to Middle East tensions. In October 2023, flights were suspended after an attack by the Hamas group, and the services were later resumed on March 3, 2024.
