The first event of the skateboarding competition at the Paris Olympics on Saturday was postponed due to heavy rain overnight and in the morning.

Skateboarding takes place at the outdoor venue of La Concorde Urban Park in Paris. World Skate, the sport’s governing body, cited adverse weather conditions for the change. The men’s street skateboarding event scheduled for Saturday was postponed to Monday, while the women’s event is still set for Sunday.

Rain has been a major issue early in the Games, with constant showers and occasional downpours setting the backdrop for the opening ceremony. As of 1:30 am (IST), most of the rain had cleared from the area and no other events had been disrupted.
