Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will not be attending the Niti Aayog meeting in New Delhi on Saturday. Instead, the state will be represented at the meeting by deputy chief ministers Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha. The exact reason for Kumar’s absence is not immediately known.

According to JD(U) spokesperson Neeraj Kumar, this is not the first time that the CM has missed the Niti Aayog meeting. The CM had also been absent from previous meetings, with Bihar being represented by the deputy CM on those occasions.

Neeraj Kumar also mentioned that there are four Union ministers from Bihar who are members of the Aayog and will be present at the meeting.

The ninth governing council meeting of the Aayog will discuss the ‘Vikshit Bharat@2047’ document, with the aim of making India a developed nation. The council, the apex body of Niti Aayog, includes all CMs, Lt Governors of Union territories, and several Union ministers. PM Modi serves as the chairman of Niti Aayog.
