Senior YSR Congress leader and former minister Botsa Satyanarayana, who was unanimously elected from the joint Visakhapatnam local bodies constituency, took oath as a member of the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council on Wednesday.
Satyanarayana, who will serve as an MLC for the next three years, was sworn in by Council Chairman K Moshenu in a ceremony held in the Council building. Satyanarayana’s unopposed victory was confirmed last Friday after the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) chose not to field a candidate against him.
Before taking the oath, Satyanarayana extended his congratulations to YSR Congress Party chief YS Jaganmohan Reddy for the successful outcome and expressed his gratitude for the support. Satyanarayana personally thanked Jaganmohan Reddy during a call to the party leader at the camp office in Tadepalli.
