In a tragic incident early on Saturday, three people lost their lives, and four others were seriously injured when their car collided with a parked lorry on the side of the road in Kakinada district. The accident occurred near the Kathipudi flyover in Shankavaram mandal on the National Highway. The victims were traveling in a Maruti Ertiga from Bhimavaram in West Godavari district, heading towards the Annavaram temple to offer prayers.
Due to dense fog in the area, the driver failed to notice the lorry parked incorrectly on the side of the road, leading to the collision. The deceased have been identified as Chavvakulam Shyam Prasad (49), Karimsetty Shivanarayana (38), and Karimsetty Divya (33), who all died on the spot. Four other passengers in the car sustained serious injuries and were rushed to the Tuni Government Hospital for treatment. Their condition is reported to be critical. The police, led by Prathipadu inspector Suri Apparao, have launched an investigation into the incident.
