"When Madhya Pradesh shines, its cultural and spiritual light shines everywhere," said Gurudev.

He appreciated the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Mohan Yadav for his efforts in promoting the art and culture of the state. Gurudev shared how the great saint Adi Shankara took his Deeksha (initiation) at Omkareshwar in Madhya Pradesh and from there lay the foundation for spreading spiritual knowledge in the entire country. "Madhya Pradesh has played an important role in elevating and spreading Indian spirituality everywhere," he said. Another highlight of the evening was performance by Maihar band, an iconic bank established by the classical musician stalwart Ustad Allauddin Khan Sahib in 1918 with the inspiration of Brijnath Singh Judev, the then king of Maihar Princely state.

This band has played an important role in keeping the tradition of Indian classical music thriving. Maihar performance was followed by Shiva Stuti by artists from Jabalpur and a mesmerizing dance drama by Smt. Jayalakshmi Ishwar, renowned Bharatnatyam exponent.
