Deputy Chief Minister Shri Pawan Kalyan is an avid book lover. On Saturday morning, he visited the Vijayawada Book Fair, spending about two and a half hours exploring various book stalls and making purchases. He focused on a wide range of genres, including Telugu, Hindi, and English books.
During his visit, he took particular interest in works by both renowned and emerging authors in Telugu literature. He also selected analytical and critical books on ancient literature, as well as translated literature, dictionaries, and spiritual texts. Notably, he was delighted to find the book "Man's Search for Meaning" by Dr. Viktor E. Frankl, which he highly admires. He remarked that reading this book can help overcome despair and foster a sense of optimism, as it illustrates how Frankl maintained hope during his captivity in Nazi concentration camps during World War II. Shri Kalyan intends to purchase these books in large quantities to give as gifts.
Additionally, he showed a keen interest in books related to Indian laws, history, politics, public policy, science and technology, agriculture, botany, and environmental studies. The Deputy Chief Minister was accompanied by Vijayawada City Commissioner Sri Rajasekhar Babu and Book Fair organizers Sri Emesco Vijay Kumar, Sri T. Manohar Naidu, Sri Lakshmaiah, Sri Babji, and others during his visit.
