TDP spokesperson Nilayapalem Vijaykumar has urged the government to immediately reclaim 8,844 acres of land near Lepakshi in Anantapur District.

These lands were initially allotted to a private company during the tenure of former Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhar Reddy in the erstwhile Andhra Pradesh. Vijaykumar alleged that certain individuals are attempting to unlawfully seize these lands, which include 4,190 acres valued at just Rs 477 crore.

He criticized the previous YSRCP government for its inaction regarding the issue and called for urgent measures to prevent the misappropriation of these lands. He emphasized the importance of protecting the rights of farmers and assignees, ensuring that their lands are not unfairly taken over
