General Manager Arun Kumar Jain stated that the South Central Railway (DMR) performed well in all departments in the last financial year. He mentioned that projects worth Rs 21,000 crores are currently in progress under the scope of DM Railway. Arun Kumar met with Union Minister Pemmasani, TDP MPs Keshineni Sivanath, Vemireddy Prabhakar Reddy, and Panchalingala Nagaraju at the Railway ETTC center in Vijayawada. Later, he spoke to the media.
“In relation to Andhra Pradesh, we are modernizing 73 railway stations. We are developing Tirupati and Nellore railway stations. The Vijayawada railway station is being developed under the PPP method. So far, we have cleared 257 RUB. We are implementing Kavach for fixed kilometers in AP without hitting trains. While 35 trains were introduced last year, 6 of them were Vande Bharat trains. In the Railway Budget 2024-25, Rs. 9,154 crore has been sanctioned for the DM Railway.
The survey for the Errupalem – Amaravati – Nambur – Railway line for Capital Amaravati has been completed. As soon as the railway board approves and funds are allocated, we will start the work on the new railway line. The meeting with the MPs was held in a positive atmosphere. We will bring the proposals given by them to the attention of the Railway Board. We have appointed a committee with the officials on the measures to be taken for drainage water in Vijayawada. MPs gave proposals for the Machilipatnam – Bapatla – Raypalle railway line. Satellite stations will be developed in addition to the Vijayawada main station. Among them, we are mainly developing Gunadala and Rayanapadu stations as satellite stations,” said the GM.
