Hearing deferred in PDS rice case involving Perni Nani's wife

Vijayawada, December 16: The anticipatory bail petition of Jayasudha, wife of former YSR Congress minister Perni Venkatramaiah (Nani), has been deferred to December 19. The petition comes amidst allegations involving the disappearance of 185 tonnes of ration rice stored in Nani's godowns, a case currently under investigation by the Machilipatnam (Bandaru) taluka police.

Jayasudha had approached the district court last Friday, seeking relief from arrest in connection with the case. The petition was subsequently transferred to the Ninth Additional District Court. During today’s proceedings, the hearing was postponed as the police had not yet submitted the necessary CD file.

Amid the ongoing investigation, Perni Nani’s family has reportedly gone into hiding over the past week. Police teams are actively searching for his family members and scrutinizing the call records of Nani’s close associates as part of their efforts to trace their whereabouts.
