Four bank holidays next week, two in Telugu States
Banks across India will observe up to four holidays next week, with institutions in the Telugu states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana remaining closed on two of those days—April 14 and April 18.
April 14 marks Ambedkar Jayanti, a nationwide holiday, while April 18 is Good Friday, observed in several parts of the country. Other region-specific closures include April 15 for Bengali New Year and Bhog Bihu in Kolkata, Agartala, Guwahati, Itanagar, and Shimla, and April 16 in Guwahati for Bhog Bihu.
Banking operations such as cash withdrawals, cheque clearances, and over-the-counter services are likely to be affected. Customers are advised to plan their financial transactions in advance to avoid disruptions.
Despite the holiday closures, digital banking platforms including UPI, mobile apps, and internet banking will remain operational. However, services that depend on bank clearance, such as cheque processing, may still face delays.
