Fresh case registered against senior IPS officer PSR Anjaneyulu

Senior IPS officer PSR Anjaneyulu, who previously served as Intelligence Chief during the YSR Congress Party government's tenure, faces a new case registered against him. Anjaneyulu is already in judicial custody at Vijayawada District Jail following his arrest in connection with the Mumbai actress Kadambari Jethwani case. He also held the position of Secretary of the Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) during the same government's term.

During his tenure at APPSC, allegations surfaced regarding irregularities and financial misappropriation in the evaluation process of the Group-1 (2018) main examination answer sheets. Acting on these complaints, the police have now registered a fresh case against him. Officials reportedly kept the development confidential, entrusting a senior officer with the investigation.

Following a report from the APPSC, Chief Secretary Vijay Anand directed the Director General of Police to register a case and initiate an investigation. As a result, a new case was filed against Anjaneyulu at Surya Rao Pet Police Station in Vijayawada under sections pertaining to cheating, misuse of funds, and criminal conspiracy.

Special investigation teams have commenced inquiries, and sources indicate that, after preliminary investigations are completed, the case may be transferred to the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) for further probe.
