AP Minister Kandula Durgesh Receives Rare Honour from PM office

Andhra Pradesh Tourism Minister Kandula Durgesh has been bestowed with a rare and prestigious honour. The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) has issued official orders appointing Minister Kandula Durgesh, alongside Union Minority Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju, to oversee the ceremonial exhibition of the sacred relics of Lord Buddha in Vietnam.

Responding to a special request from the Vietnamese government, India has agreed to display the revered Kapilvastu relics of Lord Buddha in Ho Chi Minh City from May 1 to May 6. This initiative is aimed at strengthening cultural and spiritual ties between India and Vietnam. The relics will be transported in a special Hercules aircraft of the Indian Air Force under tight security.

Minister Kandula Durgesh will travel to New Delhi on April 30, from where he will accompany the sacred relics to Vietnam. This exhibition is expected to deepen the historic and spiritual bond shared by the Buddhist communities of both nations.

The honour has drawn widespread appreciation from both the public and officials. Minister Durgesh expressed his gratitude, stating that he is humbled by the opportunity to represent India in this culturally significant event.
