Y. S. Sharmila Criticizes Pawan Kalyan, Accuses Him of Abandoning Ideological Roots
Andhra Pradesh Congress President Y. S. Sharmila has launched a sharp attack on Jana Sena Party President and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, responding to his remarks at a recent Jana Sena foundation event.
Sharmila accused Pawan Kalyan of straying from the revolutionary ideals of Che Guevara and poet Gaddar, instead aligning himself with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah. She claimed that his statements reflect a deep ideological shift towards the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and asserted that the Jana Sena Party has effectively turned into an "Andhra Religious Sena."
"Jana Sena was supposedly founded for the people, but it has now become a party promoting a specific religious agenda. Andhra Pradesh has long been a symbol of religious harmony, and adopting a divisive approach is deeply concerning. After 11 years of political struggle and assuming the role of Deputy Chief Minister, it is disheartening to see Pawan Kalyan using religion as a political tool and speaking only for selective interests. The Congress Party strongly condemns this," Sharmila stated.
She further lamented that a party once inspired by the ideals of freedom fighters has now embraced what she described as the "religious fanaticism" of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Urging Pawan Kalyan to reconsider his political stance, she remarked, "As Deputy Chief Minister, Pawan Kalyan must wake up and free himself from the illusion of the BJP."
