Posani Krishna Murali falls ill in jail, shifted to hospital
Film actor and YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) leader Posani Krishna Murali fell ill on Saturday while in custody at Rajampet Sub-Jail. Following complaints of a heart attack, jail authorities immediately transferred him to Rajampet Government Hospital, where doctors are currently treating him.
Posani Krishna Murali was arrested two days ago in connection with a case registered at Obulavaripalle Police Station in Annamaya District. The police took him into custody from his residence at Myhome Bhuja Apartment in Hyderabad. The case, filed by a Jana Sena leader named Mani on February 24, accuses him of making defamatory remarks related to caste and inciting communal discord.
The case (Crime No. 65/2025) was registered under sections 196, 353(2), 111 read with 3(5) of the IPC. Following the formation of the NDA coalition government in Andhra Pradesh, leaders from the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and Jana Sena Party have lodged multiple complaints against Posani Krishna Murali in various districts, including Guntur, Vijayawada, Narsaraopet, Annamaya, Anantapur, Bapatla, East Godavari, and West Godavari. More than ten cases have been filed against him across the state, demanding legal action over his controversial statements.
