Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, who had been undergoing treatment at AIIMS, Delhi, passed away on Thursday. After the news of his demise broke out, tributes and condolences poured in. Actor and politician Kamal Haasan also shared a note mourning the loss.

On Thursday, India lost one of its most eminent leaders and economists, Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. He had been receiving medical care at AIIMS in Delhi. Following the announcement of his sad demise, tributes and messages of condolence began to flood in on social media. Actor and politician Kamal Haasan was among the others who expressed grief with a heartfelt tribute.

The Indian 2 star wrote, "India has lost one of its most eminent statesmen and scholars. The passing of Dr. Manmohan Singh marks the end of an era in Indian polity. A man of quiet dignity, he reshaped the nation through his visionary economic and social policies.."

"Few have influenced the nation's trajectory with such far-reaching impact. His policies, both as Finance Minister and Prime Minister, empowered millions, strengthening the fabric of Indian democracy and uplifting the most vulnerable. His governance was marked by a deep commitment to inclusivity and social justice, ensuring that India's progress reached every corner of society," he added.Kamal further wrote, "His legacy will endure in the annals of Indian history, forever remembered as a leader who quietly but profoundly changed the course of the nation. My sincerest condolences to his family and to the nation on the loss of one of its finest sons."

Manmohan Singh Dies At 92

Singh was 92. He passed away due to age-related medical conditions, AIIMS informed.

The political leader served as Prime Minister of India- from 2004 to 2014. He was succeeded by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2014.
