The Andhra Pradesh High Court has adjourned the hearing on the petition filed by former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, seeking enhanced security during his tenure as Chief Minister. The hearing took place today (Friday) at the Andhra Pradesh High Court, where Jagan’s lawyer requested additional time to respond to the government’s counter. The court has scheduled the next hearing for September 25.
Jagan Mohan Reddy had previously approached the court, seeking the restoration of the security arrangements he had as Chief Minister, urging the formation of Personal Security Officers (PSOs), Counter Assault Teams, and the installation of Jammers.
He also challenged the central government’s decision to reduce his J Plus security without prior notice, calling it an illegal action. In his petition, Jagan named the Central Home Secretary, State Chief Secretary of the Home Department, the Director General of Police (DGP), Inspector General of the Intelligence Division, Guntur Superintendent of Police (SP), and the State Level Security Review Committee as respondents. The government has already filed a counter to his petition, but Jagan’s legal team sought additional time to file their reply. The High Court will continue the hearing later this month.
