In a bid to boost tourism in Andhra Pradesh, a Tourism Investors’ Conference will be held on December 17 at Hotel Vivantha in Vijayawada. Announcing the initiative, State Tourism, Culture, and Cinematography Minister Kandula Durgesh highlighted the event's focus on unveiling the new tourism policy and advancing projects under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model. Speaking at the second day of the Collectors’ Meeting held at the Secretariat,
Minister Durgesh emphasized the importance of understanding investors' interests and tailoring future strategies accordingly. The Minister expressed his gratitude to Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu for promptly granting industry status to the tourism sector, which he believes will pave the way for rapid development.
Minister Durgesh also lauded Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan's efforts, noting his role in securing Union government funds for projects like Akhanda Godavari and Gandikota under the SASK scheme. District collectors will be specially invited to participate in the conclave, as their insights and recommendations are seen as crucial for identifying tourism potential across districts.
Minister Durgesh also emphasized creating a comprehensive route map for tourism development, integrating the Central government's support, PPP policy, and, if needed, a Public-Private-People's Partnership (P4 policy) approach.
