Dharani Portal to Be Discontinued; Bhubharati to Launch on January 1
The Telangana government's Dharani portal, introduced during the previous BRS administration, will cease operations on December 31
The Telangana government's Dharani portal, introduced during the previous BRS administration, will cease operations on December 31, marking the end of its tenure. In its place, a new platform named Bhubharati, developed to manage land records under updated regulations, will be operational starting January 1.
Currently, the Dharani portal is maintained by TerraCIS, but the company’s contract concludes this month. As part of the transition, the complete data from the Dharani portal will be transferred to the National Informatics Centre (NIC), which will oversee the Bhubharati portal's operations.
Sources indicate that once the data transfer is finalized, the Telangana government plans to conduct a forensic audit of land records to ensure accuracy and compliance. The Bhubharati portal is designed to enhance efficiency and reliability in managing land records under the new Revenue Registration (ROR) law that comes into effect in the new year.
