Renu Desai Calls Out Media for Focusing on Her Remarriage

Actress and social activist Renu Desai recently opened up about her personal life in a candid podcast interview, touching on topics ranging from her first marriage to her thoughts on remarriage, children, a possible re-entry into the industry, and her political views. However, the media's overwhelming focus on her remarriage plans left her frustrated.

In a post addressing the media’s emphasis on her second marriage, Renu expressed her disappointment, saying, “Hellooo! I realized that the media is more interested in my second marriage than the many important topics I discussed in my recent podcast—topics like religion, relationships, social media influence, and more. This shows where we, as an audience, are placing our priorities.”

She continued, “So, I request you to shift your focus from a 44-year-old woman’s remarriage (which I’m not even sure about at this point) to more pressing matters like tariff sanctions, women’s safety, economic growth, climate change, and other important issues I raised in the podcast. These are the topics that deserve our attention to make us better citizens and, most importantly, better humans.”

Renu further emphasized, “I can talk about my marriage a hundred times because it affects me and my close family. But please don’t let your education and journalistic skills be wasted on the personal life of a grown woman’s second marriage—it has no impact on society or the law.”
