new Motor Vehicle Act comes into force with heavy fines

The new Motor Vehicle Act comes into effect in Andhra Pradesh starting today, implementing stricter traffic regulations. Authorities have warned that those who violate these rules will face substantial fines, with enforcement being enhanced through CCTV surveillance.

Under the new traffic regulations, the penalties for violations are as follows:

- Riding a bike without a helmet:₹1,000 fine  
- Driving a car without a seat belt: ₹1,000 fine  
- Caught for drunken driving: ₹10,000 fine and possible license cancellation  
- Jumping a signal or driving in the wrong direction: ₹1,000 fine  
- Driving without a valid license: ₹5,000 fine, with the possibility of vehicle seizure  
- Driving without valid insurance: ₹2,000 fine for the first offense, ₹4,000 for the second offense  
- Using a mobile phone while driving: ₹1,500 fine for the first offense, ₹10,000 for the second offense  
- Triple riding on a two-wheeler: ₹1,000 fine  
- Engaging in vehicle racing: ₹5,000 fine for the first offense, ₹10,000 for the second offense  
- Auto drivers without a uniform: ₹150 fine for the first offense, ₹300 for the second offense  

Officials have stated that traffic rule violations will be monitored through CCTV cameras, and fines will be imposed accordingly. Authorities urge all vehicle users to comply with the new regulations to ensure road safety.
