Pawan more than corporator, less than MLA : Jagan
Former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy took a swipe at Deputy Chief Minister K Pawan Kalyan, stating that he is "more than a corporator, less than an MLA." Speaking to reporters in Tadepalli on Wednesday, Jagan reiterated his stance, saying that while Pawan Kalyan has now secured an MLA position, his political stature remains limited.
Jagan also addressed the issue of opposition status in the Assembly, questioning why equal time should be allotted to all members. "There are only two parties in the Assembly. How can we not recognize the opposition? How can we give the same time to one of the 175 members?" he asked.
He further claimed that there is no rule mandating a specific number of members for granting opposition status, citing his past decision to grant Chandrababu Naidu the opposition status and allowing him to speak freely in the Assembly. Accusing Chandrababu Naidu of rigging the MLC elections, Jagan praised North Coastal Andhra teacher voters for their wisdom in making informed choices.
