In Telangana, political tensions have escalated following the Formula E race controversy, with the alleged involvement of BRS (Bharat Rashtra Samithi) Working President K.T. Rama Rao (KTR). It is known that the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has already interrogated KTR in connection with the case, and speculations are rife about his possible arrest. Amid these developments, a tweet from the official BRS Twitter handle has gone viral, further intensifying the political discourse.
The BRS posted an image of a black bag along with a caption stating, “There’s been a black bag lying at the ACB office for the past ten years. Whoever owns it, please claim it.” The post was seen as an indirect reference to the infamous ‘Cash-for-Vote’ case, stirring up a reaction from Congress.
In response, Congress swiftly countered the BRS's tweet. Retweeting the post, Congress remarked, “Did KTR turn pale upon seeing that bag? That bag contains records of the corruption your BRS leaders have been indulging in since 2014.”
Expanding on their criticism, Congress further listed alleged scams and irregularities by the BRS government. These include:
The Formula E race scam
Outer Ring Road fund misuse
Kaleshwaram project irregularities
Illegal phone tapping
Corruption in electricity procurement
Unauthorized sale of government lands
Kavitha’s alleged involvement in the liquor scam
Land grabbing through the Dharani portal
Irregularities in various government schemes
The sheep distribution scam
Non-payment of bills to village sarpanches
Accumulation of ₹7 lakh crore in state debt
Atrocities committed against Dalits
The Congress further remarked, “One bag is not enough to hold all the corruption records of your BRS looters. You would need many more bags. Each time KTR goes for interrogation, tell him to count the bags.”
