Rashmika Mandanna Turns to Horror with Thama

After a string of successes, Rashmika Mandanna faced a setback with her recent Hindi release Sikandar, which failed to impress at the box office. The film not only underperformed commercially but also drew criticism for underutilizing Rashmika in a relatively insignificant role. Coming off the high of Chhaava, this was a disappointing turn for the actress.

However, Rashmika is now channeling her energy into a bold new project — a horror film titled Thama. Currently in production, the film features Rashmika in a prominent role, with intense night shoots underway.

Thama marks Rashmika’s first-ever foray into the horror genre, a space she hasn't explored even during her South Indian film career. The actress is reportedly excited about the challenge and is hopeful that this film will mark her strong comeback in Bollywood. Given the genre's unpredictable nature and typically lower success ratio, the project is seen as a daring but strategic move.

Directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, Thama also stars Ayushmann Khurrana in a key role. The film is jointly produced by Maddock Films and Jio Studios and is slated for a grand theatrical release this Diwali.

All eyes are now on Rashmika to see if Thama can turn the tide in her favor.
