Kolkata Metro Ride App Achieves Record Downloads: Over 5.31 Lakh on Android, 9,000 on iOS

Since its launch, over 5.31 lakh Android phone users have downloaded the ‘Metro Ride Kolkata App’, according to an official. Additionally, a Metro Railway spokesperson mentioned that 9,000 iOS users have also downloaded the same app, which was launched on the iOS platform on March 22, 2024. The spokesperson stated, “As of July 12, 2024, more than 5.31 lakh Android users have downloaded this App from the Google Play Store since its launch on March 5, 2022. Similarly, more than 9,000 iOS users have downloaded this App from the Apple Store.” The spokesperson also highlighted that this achievement marks a record in the history of Kolkata Metro since the app’s launch two years ago. They noted that commuters are becoming increasingly familiar with the app and are downloading it more frequently. The Metro is aimed at becoming more digital-friendly to simplify commuters’ tasks and enable transactions through mobile devices. Moreover, special promotional films demonstrating how to download and use this app are being aired on platform televisions in metro stations.
